Orlando Fashion Week 2019
Orlando Fashion Week
It’s the most fashionable time of year, and it’s called Orlando Fashion Week! OFW was held this year on April 13, 2019, at the legendary KDS Studios. OFW is held annually and scheduled after the Autumn Winter Fashion Shows in NY, London, and Milan. Orlando Fashion Week was founded by Tina Bridges. Bridges have over 39 years in the fashion industry, and her eye for detail has brought grand visions for OFW. OFW is also a non-profit organization which all proceeds from the show help A charitable organization in Orlando called The Harbor House of Central Florida. The Harbor House of Central Florida helps eliminate and prevent domestic abuse in Central Florida by providing life-saving resources to survivors. OFW has received A proclamation from Mayor Buddy Dyer which makes OFW the official Fashion Week in Orlando.
OFW is a Fashion Show that highlights local designers, models, and talent in Central Florida. Orlando has a plethora of talented individuals who collectively brought the heat to OFW. This year was the best for OFW for the diversity, talent, and production that was brought to the community. The venue KDS was intimate and allowed the audience to have a private look at what the designers had to offer. The models ranged from all ages, races, and sizes which reflected that Orlando is a LARGE melting pot and with a lot of talent ! This year's collection showcased Men's and Women's Ready to Wear, celebrity-approved evening-wear and vision-oriented costumes.
Models walked the catwalk dressed in clothing made by local designers such as Castro-Rojas Label, Joseph Lago, Carma, and much more! Trends that we saw this season from OFW were bucket hats and cohesive matching sets. Our favorite designer from OFW was Castro-Rojas Label. They delivered fierce street sensibility clothing that complimented all sizes! The designer of the year was awarded to designer Zheni Karachorova Espana for her line Zheni’s Costumes. Congratulations OFW for a successful and packed out event!
