Travel Diaries : Barcelona, Spain
Welcome to Barcelona Spain! A city that has a tale and twist on every street corner but a romantic love that runs deep into the city. Barcelona is an elegant city where the standards are set just as high as the taste of the finest wine. I felt like a Queen in this city, Barcelona will be a favorite city of mine because the citizens of this beloved country are prideful, diverse, and have a great sense of culture.
Day 1: I flew from NYC had a connecting flight in Orlando and then Flew to Gatwick, London. After arriving in London it brought so many memories of my study abroad in London. After I connected with a smaller Airline and Arrived in Barcelona. As soon as stepping off the airport Barcelona is a pristine city. The air felt so clean and refreshing on my face compared to the gritty air from NYC. Once getting acclimated in this amazing city we spent our time in Barbera Del Valles and went to the Baricentro Mall.
The people were so helpful there even if you didn’t know Spanish. I ate at the local food court and had a beer with locals, the beauty of traveling is learning about the city from people who live there!
Day 2: Time to get up and get out! Josie and I had a DIY cooking Paella class which was located in the heart of Barcelona. I truly enjoyed this class so much because we went to the local markets and bought all the fresh ingredients to prepare. We met so many people from all over the world at our table having lunch with us. We met a lady from South Africa a Couple from California and sisters from NYC (insert yuurrrrp here ). After the class, Josie and I had some drinks with the instructors and enjoyed the ambiance of the city. What I love about Barcelona is that it is a laid back lifestyle. Nobody is rushing you, you can enjoy your beverage in peace!
We met some males around our age that were from the United Kingdom both were Jamaican decent. I think my favorite question to ask people who have never been to the US is which state would you like to visit.
I would hardly hear anyone say NYC ( raises eyebrows) but I love to encourage people to try and visit the world while they still can.
Day 3: Barceloneta Beach is truly a place that is filled with romance ! the atmosphere is so relaxing and locals are enjoying there day by going swimming, enjoying a delicious meal, or indulging in shopping. I had one of the tastiest meals here which was a veggie Paella. What I loved most about this city is that I felt pretty much safe and public transportation was very easy to learn and was able to move around very easily and affordable. I would recommend coming to Spain around September the weather was perfect and the nightlife was lively and the city was vibrant!
