Clarks Originals and A Bathing Ape Call on Raheem Sterling to Front New Collaboration
Raheem Sterling fronted a new footwear collaboration with Clarks Original X BAPE
Raheem Sterling hailing from Kingston Jamaica is the Manchester City and England forward collaborated with BAPE and British shoe manufacturer Clarks. Clarks Originals have great popularity in Kingston, Jamaica due to the style of the footwear. Artist Vybz Kartel made a song called Clarks which has since cause great popularity around the shoe. Sterling collaboration with Bape in early august and the collaboration sold out in minutes. One person tweeted that “the shoes were harder to get hold of than gold”. The shoes have been described as a wavey new capsule, giving off a modern streetwear feel.
Sterling’s collaboration for Clarks Originals is scheduled to drop September 3rd, Clarks quoted “ It’s these roots that are responsible for his love of Clarks Originals. And it’s this love that makes him the perfect person to collaborate with a new limited -edition Wallabee- one that Raheem wants the whole island of Jamaica to be proud of and feel a connection to.” To celebrate the diversity of the Jamaican people, and Raheem’s heritage the tongue lining features the national motto “ Out of Many One People” A community partnership with Maverley Primary and Junior High School in Kingston, Raheem’s alma mater will be making additional new Wallabees Clarks available for every student at the school.
