Gestuz SS2021

The Gestuz Spring Summer 2021 digital concept was inspired by the idea of being on a journey. In many different ways, one can be on one without actually leaving the house. The woman seen in the film is on a journey together with the rest of society; a journey through a period of time where change is not only everywhere, but desperately needed. “We are living in unprecedented times and the changes around the world have made us promptly and completely stop and reevaluate what we are doing.

But while we all had to stop everything, we are weirdly also in a situation where we have an opportunity to move forward and rethink the way we have been operating up until now. It seems like we are all - as an industry, society, individually - on a journey to change our way of being. It was this idea of a journey that inspired the digital concept for our Spring Summer 2021 presentation; being on a journey, when you are not actually able to travel the world, but in desperate need to move forward anyway.”

Creative Director Sanne Sehested. Utilitarian-inspired pieces such as oversize trench coats and strong shirts with pockets meet classic menswear suits and minimalistic leather pieces. The 70s are once again a great inspiration for the collection offering vintage silhouettes, a snakeskin blazer, and strong shoulders.

Colors are toned down more than ever before with different shades of beige, soft blues, and grey. The Journey is produced by Newland and directed by Jonas Bang, offering the audience a new way of discovering not only the Spring Summer 2021 collection but the Gestuz brand. A digital hub will be created to present not only the video but a deep dive into the universe behind The Journey, with exclusive interviews, sustainability information, collection images, and extra material.

The Journey was styled by Paris-based creative and stylist Anna Klein. A focus for the collection has been to create good quality trend pieces with a classic touch to make sure they will become wardrobe evergreens that will keep evolving into new looks season after season. Moreover, 63% of the collection is made from more sustainable materials.
