Tell us about yourself and where you're from?
My name is D4M $loan and I’m an artist, actor and creator from West Philadelphia. Many people recognize my music because my voice has a very distinct grizzly sound. When I’m not creating, I’m staying up on the latest fashion, working out and traveling.
How did it feel to perform at the Cult of Individuality Show?
It was an amazing and fun experience. It was actually my first experience performing at a NYFW runway show, so I was very excited to see the crowd’s reaction during my performance. This performance put me in front of a fashion focused audience, so seeing their excitement and feeling their energy made it a great experience overall. I’m thankful to Ron Poison, Cult of Individuality Creator, Mykel Smith my Creative Director and Rasheen Farlow, my Managing Partner, for working together to offer me this opportunity.
You also closed the show by walking the runway. Explain to us how that feel ?
It’s crazy because when Ron told me to walk out, I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to walk to the end of the runway or if I was just supposed to walk out and accompany Ron. That was a spur of the moment decision that was made at the end of the show, so I just went with it. It was definitely a surreal experience and I look forward to doing it again.
What are some of your current favorite fashion trends?
As much as I love fashion, I’m not one to follow trends. My motto is I dress how I feel, so that’s what I do. I just try to give them swagg wherever I go.
SWAGG TALK currently holds over 1 million views on youtube, Explain the inspiration behind the song.
I really wanted to give D4M Swagg, that’s why I named the song Swagg Talk. I actually switched the flow on the song 4-5 times and wanted to really make people react when they listened to it. People have really supported the song, which led it to making the Top 25 List in Philadelphia.
What can your fans expect in the next upcoming months?
I actually just dropped my newest single “Drive Who Crazy” which has gone viral on TikTok and also charted on the Top 25 List in Philadelphia. That song blew up overnight and has been featured on several playlists curated by Apple Music, Amazon Music and Tidal. My video just dropped on YouTube about a week ago, so I need everyone to go and check that out too. Aside from that, they can expect more music. I have another single coming soon and plans to drop an EP. I also really enjoyed acting on Bel-Air, the dramatic reboot of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, so I’m definitely seeking out more acting opportunities. And last but not least, they can expect more swagg.
